Where can I work as a Functional Exercise Coach?

Most start in gym environments, many progress from personal trainers to more rewarding careers, or start new careers in health. You can also work privately in studios or health clinics.

Are there exams involved?

Yes, exams are required for Scientific Core Conditioning, Scientific Back Training, Program Design, and practical assessments throughout IMS 1 followed by a multiple choice exam. A Retest is free if you don’t pass initially.

Will I need equipment?

Basic gym equipment like dumbbells and Swiss balls, and CHEK Tools for detailed physical assessments. CHEK Tools can be purchased on a payment plan for $420.

What type of clients can I work with?

After IMS 1, you can work with 90% of the population. More complex cases are covered in future levels.

How many hours of study will it take?

Completing all courses and IMS 1 online typically takes 3-4 months, studying around 5 hours per week.
